Declaration of intent

Every generation thinks that theirs is ‘The' critical moment in human history when ideas are coming together that will transform the world for good or ill.  And they were right.  It is always that moment - ideas can always change yours and everyone else's worldview; and thus the world.  And so here we are, and here I am, another who believes we are living on a historically critical knife's edge - the nexus of potential.  Ideas are the key.  They are the foundation and what sets into motion transformation.

The World is being pushed and pulled by ideas of transformation all based on logically consistent structures but they are going towards opposite extremes - apocalypse at one end and global enlightenment at the other.  The forces of apocalypse are gleefully spreading out by intimidation and proclamation, and figuratively, and literally, taking out those who stand in their way.  I believe I have an idea that is a light in the darkness, a shield, and, if need be, a sword.  This is the moment in time when someone needs to stand on the bridge and not let the forces of extreme limitation and fundamentalism overwhelm our world.  I intend to be that one.  By writing and teaching I hope to contribute to Tikkun Olam - the healing of oneself, the world and the divine.

My philosophic equation is this: People shape, and are shape by, ideas.

This statement is deceptively something so simple, so obvious, but so seminally foundational.  Our ideas came from our upbringing and those ideas we have unconsciously adopted are the sunglasses through which we view ourselves and the world.  To use another set of metaphors - those unconsciously adopted sets of ideas are ‘The Matrix' we live in.  By telling you about my idea and its implications I am offering you the ‘red pill' - what I beleive is the truth and nothing more.  Once you read and understand the totality of what that simple phrase means you will know that everyone who has every lived, spoken and wrote in humans symbol systems has been so shaped by their unconscious ideas that this is the filter through which everything they experience - even the Divine, flows.  Hence all revelations that are transmitted through human sets of symbol systems, be they scientific, philosophic, or theologic, are all not the direct ‘Word of God' or the ‘Voice of Nature' but they are only that which we humans have selected to take in.  

Infinite though the input may be the results can only be, and usually is, unconsciously filtered and selected finite output.
